This new Canadian, modern Arabic adaptation of Sa'adallah Wannous’ masterpiece Al-Malik Huwa Al-Malik reflects on the consistency of humans, throughout the ages, when it comes to power, authority, and hierarchy. This workshopped reading, co-produced with the Canadian Arabic Orchestra and presented as part of the Festival of Arabic Music & Arts, provides opportunity and exposure to Toronto’s burgeoning Canadian Arabic Theatre presence in the local theatre scene. The reading will be presented in Arabic with English surtitles.
